A Russian court has banned a book about Adolf Hitler by the late historian Hugh Trevor-Roper, saying quotes attributed to the Nazi leader insult Russians and Jews. The banned book is 1953 “Hitler’s Table Talk: 1941-1944″, which records Hitler’s sometimes racist ramblings on a wide range of topics. Russia’s Prosecutor-General said in a statement that texts published in “Hitler’s Table Talk” are of “an anti-Slavic and anti-Semitic character”.

He said that “a host of statements by A. Hitler in the book insult the dignity of Russian and Jewish peoples who are presented in quotes as inferior and primitive people because of their nationality.” The Prosecutor-General said certain Hitler quotes in the book — such as “Russians are beasts,” “Slavs are a mass of inborn slaves” — had caused offence. The book will now be put on a national list of extremist works that are banned and owning or distributing it would then be illegal.

Or maybe just ban stupid amateurs who are usually nearly skewered by the scary bulls. The man in the video below had it worse — his balls were nearly cut off! Yeah, he was naked in front of gazillions of people! o_O

Last year, strict rules were introduced by Britain’s Ofcom (broadcasting watchdog) that banned junk food companies from advertising their products during times of the day when children were likely to be watching television. The move was an attempt to cut down on the growing problem of childhood obesity. However, Ofcom used the Food Standards Agency (FSA) definition of junk food –- any product that had high levels of fat, salts and sugar per 100 grams.

This meant that lots of food, including Marmite, honey, most breakfast cereals, nearly all dried fruit, and many fruit juices were banned from being advertised! Apart from a small alteration to the complicated definition, 97 per cent of the products that were banned last year will have to remain off television screens during children’s programmes. The only products given a reprieve are a range of cereals including Weetabix Weetos and Oatiflakes, Quaker oat granola, and Kellogg’s Special K Sustain. Some crisps are also being allowed back.
