Yes, believe it or not, there is a law in the state of Massachusetts that explicitly states that it is against the law to have a gorilla in the back seat of a car. Here is law:

” No gorilla is allowed in the back seat of any car. ”

no gorilla at the back seat

Now one might wonder, how in the heck this kind of law came to pass. It’s only conceivable that at some point in time, some fool decided to put a 300 lb ape, with the strength of 20 grown men in the back seat of a car and drove around Boston or some such where the animal probably got loose and sent someone to the hospital. It befuddles the mind what situation could have spawned this law but it’s there in black and white.

If you’re in for some fun, get one of those balloon gorillas at the fun shops and put it in the back seat of your car and drive around Boston with it. See what happens.
