Naomi Campbell banned from British Airways!

The supermodel’s latest tantrum got her banned from traveling with British Airways (BA). If you haven’t heard, Naomi Campbell has assaulted a police officer last week over lost baggage. She was then arrested (April 3) inside Heathrow’s Terminal 5. Her camp has pleaded with the company to retract their ban. Her rep says, “Naomi has been flying with BA for nearly 30 years and has been a good customer. She hopes this can be resolved amicably.”

But British Airways is firm with their decision. A source says, “Banning her will send out a worldwide signal that such behavior is totally unacceptable. The decision was not taken lightly. She is a valued customer. But it is unthinkable for BA to talk about the safety of staff and passengers being our priority, then let her off. Her behavior was absolutely shocking. She abused our staff and police.” Can I say, “Serves her right!” now??

fair-skinned Aussies banned in using solariums

Citing the consequences of solariums or tan beds (and that’s SKIN CANCER boys and girls), a law has been proposed in Western Australia that states that people with very fair skin and teenagers will be BANNED in using solariums in at least one state in the country. The step has been taken to stop vulnerable people from developing cancer as WA Health Minister Jim McGinty said that there was mounting evidence of a link between cancer and solariums.

“There are no health benefits whatsoever, no therapeutic benefits from the use of solaria. But there is a very big downside,” News.com.au quoted McGinty, as saying. Under the regulations, people with very fair skin (skin type one), would not be allowed to use them because of their “extreme risk” of developing cancer. People under 18 would also be banned, and educational material would have to be available at solarium centres. Guess hot Aussie chicks can say bye-bye to their gorgeous tans now! o_O

porn-loving recluse banned from using computer!

Is that even possible?? I mean, the guy could just sneak a lil computer time when he isn’t monitored right? Hehe! Anyway, here’s the lowdown — a man described as a “computer recluse” who downloaded more than 26,000 porn images has been banned from using computers. Jeremy Neil Young, 22, who led a life of social isolation, has been told to build relationships. Young pleaded guilty in Feilding District Court to 13 charges – three of distributing objectionable images and 10 of possessing them. The judge said, “It’s clear to me your computer skills and ability far exceed your relationship and social skills.”

When Internal Affairs staff raided his home in Feilding in February last year, they found more than 1600 objectionable images on his computer and nine disks holding 25,000 images accrued over three years. Judge Gregory Ross said Young’s parents had no clue what he was doing. He used the computer from a room outside the house. The judge sentenced him to six months’ community detention with a curfew, and nine months’ intensive supervision. He banned him from using a computer, and ordered him to live inside the family home.

“Lust, Caution” actress banned in China!

Boohoo! The Chinese government is certainly not going modern with all the banning they do *shakes head* The latest victim? “Lust, Caution” star Tang Wei! She has been banned in the Chinese media because of the sexual nature of her performance in director Ang Lee’s steamy drama movie. An internal memo from China’s State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT) was reportedly sent to all television stations and print media in China on Thursday night, stating that a new television commercial starring Tang for skin care brand Pond’s was to cease broadcast immediately. All print ads and feature content using the actress also were to be pulled. The memo gave no reason for the ban. Tang’s deal with Pond’s is worth a reported 6 million yuan ($843,000). Wow, that’s a lot of money! Down the drain? We shall see..

“Lust, Caution” is 28-year-old Ms. Tang’s first major film, and both audiences and critics lauded her for holding her own, particularly given the intense nature of the sexual scenes with co-star Tony Leung Chiu-wai. The movie reportedly upset China’s central government, where top officials were said to have criticized the film’s content as “glorification of traitors and insulting to patriots.” SARFT also informed all major film and broadcast entities and governing bodies that it was renewing prohibitions on “lewd and pornographic content” and content that “show promiscuous acts, rape, prostitution, sexual intercourse, sexual perversity, masturbation and male/female sexual organs and other private parts.”

girl banned for grunting!

A nine-year-old girl in Australia has been banned from playing tennis because of her loud grunting! How cruel is that?? Lauryn Edwards was told by her local club that she could no longer play her favorite sport after a complaint was made by an opposition player. The Mt. Carmel Tennis Club, in Sunbury, told Lauryn’s stunned parents, Duncan and Ruth, that the grunting had become too much. Lauryn’s favorite player is Russian star and notorious grunter Maria Sharapova but his father said that his daughter’s grunting was nowhere near Sharapova’s level and had been exaggerated.

“It’s pretty slight and now and again she hits it hard and makes a loud noise and that’s it,” News.com.au quoted him as saying. He added, “From just one comment, this has all blown up stupidly. There’s no rule against it, so they’ve made a rule against it.” He said that the club had asked him for an assurance Lauryn would remain silent on the court. He asks, “How can I guarantee that? She’s been doing it since she was really little. She’s her own person. What do they want me to do? Put Band-Aids over her mouth? They made her cry on the court when they told her.” Poor girl! I wonder if this doesn’t violate Lauryn’s rights..
