UK singer Boy George banned in US!

boy georgeAccording to reports, the “Karma Chameleon” singer has been refused a visa for the US leg of his summer tour (which was to include a special performance for his former colleagues at New York’s Department of Sanitation) over complications arising from the singer’s criminal past and pending his London trial this November. The singer, whose full name is George O’Dowd, pleaded not guilty in February to falsely imprisoning a male escort (chained him to a wall in his London apartment). He was released on bail. Boy George’s rep said the singer was “devastated” he would not be able to play in the States for what would have been the first time in a decade.

The singer’s management said in a statement: “George is astounded at the decision and is having lawyers here in the States look at it in the hope that someone will change their mind. George has not been convicted of anything in London and there is a presumption in the Western World of innocence until proven guilty.” His management continues: “He is clearly not considered any form of risk. George really would love to come to America and repay his American fans’ loyalty, and that is why we are asking the U.S. authorities to reconsider their decision.”

Brooklyn seniors banned from graduation!

Three Brooklyn high school seniors will be banned from their graduation ceremony because of a prank involving a cake that apparently was laced with laxatives. Department of Education spokeswoman Margie Feinberg said Wednesday that the cake sickened two crossing guards, a social worker and three teachers — two of them sought treatment at a hospital.

As punishment, the students will finish their year at an alternative learning center. They will be banned from their school, and a parent or guardian will have to escort them if they need to stop by the Brooklyn School for Global Studies. Feinberg says the students didn’t realize anyone would be harmed. The NYPD is testing the cake’s ingredients, but Feinberg says a laxative is suspected.

call girl banned from phone booth!

A nuisance prostitute has been banned from nearly every phone box in north west London after soliciting on the streets of Brent. Christine Henry (48 years old) was slapped with a two year Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) by Brent Magistrates, on Monday last week. Under the ASBO conditions she is banned from carrying items that could be used to advertise her sexual services, must not go in any public telephone box in Camden, Barnet and Brent and cannot distribute or advertise her telephone number in any public place, or on the internet.

Police officers caught Henry placing advertising cards in a public phone box, in Kilburn High Road, last month. PC Pat Allen said: “The impact of the cards produced by Miss Henry being displayed inside the telephone kiosks in full view of persons of all ages, is detrimental to the community and causes much alarm and distress. This demonstrates that we will take action to improve the quality of life for those who live and work in the area.”

Miley Cyrus banned from using computer!

Yup, the one and the same “Hannah Montana” star. She may be earning $15 million but since she’s underaged, Miley Cyrus is still under parental control. According to reports, her mother has banned the 15-year old star from using the internet in an effort to stop her from flirting with boys and older men. Her parents, Billy Ray and Tish, are apparently trying to reel her in before she gets even more out of control like the former Disney stars Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

The problem has been the computer according to the National Ledger — “She’s [Miley Cyrus' mom] now put the brakes on her out of control daughter’s bad attitude, snotty comments and online flirting with boys and older men.” Apparently, when Tish found out about her online behavior, she confronted Miley, who snapped, ‘Get off my back!’

Pictures of the Hannah Montana star leaked over the Internet more than a month ago. In those pictures she was seen laying across her then boyfriend’s lap in a provocative manner. Another picture showed her pulling her top down to expose her green bra. The most recent pictures to hit the Internet show Miley Cyrus pulling her T-shirt up to expose her stomach (at left). The big question: will the computer ban stop her??

Sharon Stone banned in China!

And why is someone as beautiful as her be banned?? Coz Sharon Stone recently said that China’s recent earthquake was ‘karma’ for its treatment of Tibetans. Wahaha! And for that, the 50-year old actress was not on the guest list for the Shanghai Film Festival in China. Sharon Stone has since apologised for the comments she made during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival. But Shanghai’s organisers have decided not to invite her to the event. Chinese are tough dude! Apology is not sufficient, tsk!

The banning of Sharon Stone was already confirmed by the festival spokeswoman Tang Bing. The Basic Instinct star went to last year’s festival as the image ambassador for the French cosmetic giant Christian Dior, which has since pulled her ads in China. Sharon’s rep did not return a call for comment.

teens banned from Apple stores!

The reason? Apple store employees caught them downloading a third-party application onto a demo iPhone! Really unthinkable so they got immediate banishment from Apple stores “for life” o_O Read on below for the story (thanks to wired.com) —

Two Palo Alto High School students — Daniel Fukuba and Eric Vicenti — met up with two recent Paly grads, Noah Rogers and Anjay Patel, at the Apple Store in downtown Palo Alto. While the teens waited for Patel to show up at the store, they downloaded the third-party car-racing game “Raging Thunder” onto the store’s iPhone. The store manager asked them if they needed help, to which they responded that they were doing fine.

After Patel showed up, the group hung out for “less than five minutes” before they left. But they didn’t get far — they were chased down the block by the manager who told them to “Stop right there.” The Apple store manager called the cops, Daniel’s and Eric’s parents, and the four teens were detained for 2.5 hours. “After being lectured by the manager on the dangers of ‘hacking’ into the phones, the teens were photographed and told their pictures were being sent to all Apple stores so they’d be on the lookout for us,” Rogers told the Palo Alto Daily News.

An Apple spokesperson, however, denied banning the teens. “They were not banned from the Apple store,” said spokesman Steve Dowling. So why were the guys under the impression they were banned? “I don’t know, you’ll have to ask them,” he said. So who’s telling the truth now?? But it sure sucks to be banned from Apple stores for life! *shudder*

man banned from uploading to YouTube!

And of course, as expected, this man is from Great Britain / England / UK. For some reason, the government there is exercising too much of their censoring arm! Thank god I don’t live there! Anyway, the banned man apparently posted more than 80 videos of himself and others allegedly committing crimes on Google’s YouTube video-sharing website. Thus, he has been banned from uploading any more clips or images of himself. And if he breaches the banning terms, he may face an immediate jail sentence. TSK!

Speeding, taking drugs, setting off fireworks in a wheelie bin and refusing to pay a taxi fare were among the offenses that Andrew Kellett is alleged to have committed in clips posted on the site. In response to his antics, Leeds Magistrates’ Court issued him with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) that prevents him posting any more videos or images of his activities. Kellet, who was called “Leeds’ dumbest criminal” by a Leeds Councillor, claimed the ban restricted his freedom of speech and that he was simply an innocent bystander recording events.

Lindsay Lohan banned from mom’s reality show!

And guess who banned her? Dina Lohan herself! Yeah, what a monster mom! But wait, she says she’s banning Lindsay Lohan because it would be bad for her career. Her upcoming eight-episode series entitled “Living Lohan” will follow the manager-mom as she navigates the careers of her two younger children, Ali (14) and Cody (11). Dina Lohan says,

“I told Lindsay I don’t want her on the show right now. Doing reality TV would almost be taking a step backward as far as her career.”

Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, has previously warned the controversial actress to stay away from her mother’s reality show, fearing Dina would use her to further her own career in the entertainment industry. But Dina Lohan insists her intentions are genuine: “I did this to defuse the rumors about my family. The media has just been so horrific to us over the past two years. I just want to get the message across that we are a normal family.”

Britney Spears banned from driving kids!

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon gave the sealed order during a court hearing in which the pop star’s ex-husband Kevin Federline’s lawyer officially informed the judge that Britney Spears ran a red light with their two little boys in the car last week. Tsk! Definitely not a good turn for the singer. The sudden banning was made after a court hearing today, during which Mark Vincent Kaplan (K-Fed’s lawyer) officially informed the judge about the incident.

Britney Spears was caught on video that shows the pop singer running a red light at a Hollywood Hills intersection while driving the children in the back seat. The singer’s driving has been an ongoing problem for her. Britney Spears has so far run over people three times in nearly a month, 1 was a sheriff deputy and 2 were camera people. The LAPD is actually investigating another hit and run involving the deputy.

Autistic child banned from church! =(

On a farm in central Minnesota, you’ll find a family devoted to each other and to God, but because one of the children has autism — the family has been told they cannot go to mass. Carol Race’s 13-year-old son, Adam, has autism. In his case, the disorder sometimes causes loud outbursts and violent behavior. Church leaders in Bertha, Minn. say it’s so bad that they had to get a restraining order to ban the Race’s from mass.

Race said she cares for Adam night and day, and she takes him to church every Sunday. However, last Sunday at Saint Joseph Church was different. She got a ticket for going to mass on Mother’s Day. “It’s a citation. They want me to appear in court on Monday morning,” she said, as she showed the ticket.

“That’s what really shocks me — that this would come at this time,” she remarks, because she says her son has been making progress in mass, by standing up, kneeling, and holding hands with his family. However, the parish priest recalls, quote, “repeated disruptions in church,” he says, the last three years, so he took out a restraining order to keep Adam and his family out. “Nobody should be subjected to this behavior, but guess what this is reality. Autism is a reality,” Race said.
