Eva Longoria banned Heather Mills from Desperate Housewives

Yes, Heather Mills, the ex-wife of Sir Paul McCartney! According to Michele Elyzabeth, the former glamour model’s ex-publicist, Heather was desperate to make a name for herself in Hollywood and advised her to secure her a role on a high profile TV series (Desperate Housewives). Michele related, “Heather was desperate to live in America. She wanted to be accepted by Hollywood in any way. I tried to get her on Desperate Housewives in a little cameo.”

Unfortunately for Heather Mills, Eva Longoria wasn’t too keen on having her on the hit TV show. The divorcee’s ex-publicist continued, “The producer was keen. I reckon they saw the chance to get some headlines for the show. But when the stars discussed it, Eva Longoria was totally against it. She demanded Heather be dropped from consideration.”

another Olympian banned for life!

lyudmila_blonska

A few days back, we posted about a male Cuban athlete who was banned for life in the Olympics after kicking a referee. And now, here comes news that a female athlete is being banned. According to reports, Olympic heptathlon runner-up Lyudmila Blonska of Ukraine has received a lifetime ban after failing a doping test at the Beijing Games. The Ukrainian national athletics federation made the decision on Friday after she tested positive for the steroid methyltestosterone, her second doping violation in five years.

Lyudmila Blonska said her husband Sergei Blonsky, who has been her coach for five years, had forced her to take the drug that resulted in her most recent positive test. Blonsky was also banned for life. She took the Olympic silver medal in heptathlon — the women’s version of the decathlon — after registering a season-best 6,700 points in Beijing. Fellow Ukrainian Nataliia Dobrynska won gold with 6,733 points. But after testing positive, Lyudmila Blonska was stripped of her medal and expelled from the Games.

Cuban taekwondo athlete banned for life!

A Cuban tae kwon do athlete and his coach were barred for life after the athlete kicked a referee in the face following his disqualification in his bronze medal match. The Cuban coach, Leudis González, offered no apology for the actions of the athlete, Ángel Matos, during the men’s over-80 kilogram (176 pounds) match. Matos was winning, 3-2, in the second round, when he fell to the mat after being hit by his opponent, Kazakhstan’s Arman Chilmanov. He remained there, awaiting medical attention, when he was disqualified for taking too much injury time. Fighters get one minute, and Matos was disqualified when his time ran out. Matos angrily questioned the call, pushed a judge, then pushed and kicked the referee, Chakir Chelbat of Sweden. Matos then spat on the floor and was escorted out. “He was too strict,” González said, referring to the decision to disqualify Matos. Afterward, he charged that the match was fixed, accusing the Kazakhs of offering him money. “This is a strong violation of the spirit of tae kwon do and the Olympic Games,” the World Taekwondo Federation said in a release. It added that there would be a lifetime ban of González and Matos in all championships sanctioned by the organization and that all Matos’s records at the Beijing Games would be erased.

Babyshambles banned from headlining Moonfest festival

Of course, the band’s frontman, Peter Doherty was “absolutely devastated and furious” about it. Officers from Westbury, Wiltshire (where the 3-day Moonfest festival will be held) apparently lodged a ban application at North Wiltshire Magistrates Court and it was approved. They were afraid that their force is not strong enough to contain the 5,000 set to attend. It is believed to be the first court to issue section 160 of the Licensing Act (2003) to stop an act from performing.

Superintendent Paul Williams, of Wiltshire Police, said the application had come following Peter Doherty’s solo performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall which was marred by crowd trouble. He said: “It is very unusual for the Royal Albert Hall to have to request police assistance, which on that occasion they did. He (Doherty) just whipped up the crowd and there was disorder. We are not killjoys and we help organisers with many events throughout the year and some are much larger than this one.”

Chief Superintendent Julian Kirby, on the other hand, said: “We carried out an analysis of what Pete Doherty and his band does … They speed up and then slow down the music and create a whirlpool effect in the crowd. They (the crowd) all get geed up and then they start fighting.” John Green, Moonfest’s organiser, said he was “livid” at the decision while Doherty’s manager Andy Boyd said they will hold a free show to compensate fans.

Iranian actress banned from going to Hollywood

golshifteh farahani

According to Iran’s official news agency, a certain Golshifteh Farahani was at Tehran’s airport on her way to the United States to study a new acting offer in Hollywood when she was banned from leaving her country. IRNA’s report this Wednesday quotes an unnamed official as saying the actress “was banned from traveling” the other day. The official didn’t give a reason for the ban.

Farahani was the first Iranian-based actress since the 1979 Islamic Revolution to appear in a Hollywood film when she landed a role in Ridley Scott’s “Body of Lies.” The movie is set to be released later this year and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. Iranian artists usually need accreditation from Iran’s Culture Ministry before they can work with foreign agencies.

man banned from gf’s home due to “noisy sex”

LOLOLOL! This is by far the weirdest reason I came across why a person was banned from something! According to reports, a 32-year old British man has been banned from visiting his girlfriend’s home after neighbors complained about noisy sex o_O Adam Hinton was apparently banned from being within 100 meters (110 yards) of his girlfriend Kerry Norris’ home. According to Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman Mike Taggart, neighbors of Kerry had been complaining since 2006 about thumping music, banging headboards and screamed obscenities.

“She is a classic nightmare neighbor,” Taggart said, insisting the case was not about sex. “It’s about allowing your neighbors to have a normal decent life without being disturbed.” The court granted the city council’s request for an injunction banning Adam Hinton from the apartment because Kerry Norris had ignored a previous court order demanding that she be more quiet. Neighbors also complained about Norris sunbathing naked in her yard.

Ethiopians banned from entering Kuwait

The reason for the ban? Its coz many Ehtiopians have been diagnosed with dangerous and infectious diseases during tests after their arrival in Kuwait. Thus, the Kuwaiti government gave orders not to issue any work or visit visas to people from Ethiopia. The ban comes after several meetings between health and interior ministry officials, where discussions centered around the appearance of infectious diseases among workers from Asian and African countries, especially Egypt, Ethiopia, Guinea, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

It was agreed as a start to ban Ethiopian citizens from working in Kuwait, and not allow them entry even with visit visas, with the exception of ministers and officials. The health ministry has sent official letters to the interior ministry asking it not to issue entry visas to all Ethiopians – be they domestic helpers, those who want to work in the private sector or even professional athletes. The ban is part of national security and constitutes a preventive measure for Kuwait.
