banned SONY commercial!
Really creative Sony commercial! And so risque!!! Hehe!
As usual, it was banned by ASA. What’s up with these officials?? Tsk! JAMES (a band) recently revealed that the controversial artwork for their new album has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority. The baby with a gun cover of ‘Hey Ma’ now won’t be coming to a billboard near you following the ruling, but according to James’ lead guitarist Larry Gott the band are undeterred by the decision. He tells XFM,
“We talked at length about hitting a problem with the Advertising Standards Authority, but it’s such a strong image we decided it go with it anyway … We were looking at lots of ideas with the designers and they came up with an image of a baby and a gun that related to a story in America of a ten month old child that had been issued a firearms certificate … Firearms are dangerous, they’re not to be taken likely, and we as a society are becoming over familiarised with the image of gun and gun culture.”
A TV ad campaign featuring lingerie-clad women praying for beautiful hair has been banned by the advertising watchdog because it might offend Christians. The series of three TV ads, created by ad agency TBWA Manchester for beauty firm ghd, had an overall religious theme using the tagline “Ghd. A new religion for hair”.
Ghd’s ads showed scantily-clad women in various positions, such as lying on a bed, while looking upwards with their hands clasped as if in prayer. Some had objects that looked like votive candles and rosary beads. Viewers could hear the thoughts of each of the women, in various languages including English, which centered on having great hair.
One woman was thinking “May my new curls make her feel choked with jealousy“, while another was saying to herself “May my flirty flicks puncture the heart of every man I see“. At the end of each ad an endline ran: “Thy will be done”.
The Advertising Standards Authority received a total of 23 complaints, including one from the Archdeacon of Liverpool, objecting that the ads were offensive to the Christian faith. What say you Christians out there?? Offensive or just plain cool and creative? I’m with the latter! =)
I don’t know if this is a real commercial ad. If it is, watch why it is banned. ICKY!!! And I must say, poor bird! O_o
Famous Korean actress Jeun JiHyun in this commercial was banned from Korean TV network. I wonder why.. Do they ban sexy girls over there?? LOL
Too gross!!! And according to a viewer, this ad has been banned by PETA too. Look what happens to the dog ;p
