A 35-year-old woman in Coquitlam, British Columbia was doing some gardening in the front yard of her house when a bear attacked her, apparently without provocation! Neighbors who heard the woman’s screams said she threw rocks at the bear to make it stop its attack. The animal was later shot and killed by a police officer. Black bears often wander down from the mountains into some of Vancouver’s suburbs in search of food but attacks on humans are extremely rare.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Corporal Tony Farahbakchian said, “They are normally shy and back away, so we don’t know what happened in this incident.” He adds that the attack was considered “an isolated incident”. The woman was hospitalized in serious condition with bite wounds to her arms and skull, but the injuries were not considered life threatening. She is now recovering after the bear mauling. Golly, this is some scary sh!t huh??

At least the strict religious police didn’t ban pets entirely! According to the Al-Hayat newspaper, the Muttawa (aka Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, aka religious police) have banned selling pet cats and dogs and walking them in public places in the country’s capital Riyadh to preserve public morals. Othman al-Othman, head of the Muttawa in Riyadh, said that the ban was being enforced because men use pets to flirt with women and to “disturb families.” LOL! What a strange way to flirt!

According to Islamic beliefs, a Muslim loses credit for one good deed each day he keeps a dog unless it is used for hunting, protection or to assist shepherds. However, the ban surprised many Muslims as the Prophet Muhammad is believed to have loved cats. Also, though conservative Muslims see dogs as “dirty animals,” having a pedigree animal has become fashionable in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Or maybe just ban stupid amateurs who are usually nearly skewered by the scary bulls. The man in the video below had it worse — his balls were nearly cut off! Yeah, he was naked in front of gazillions of people! o_O

According to reports, a dog attacked a girl in her western Sydney backyard recently and it was found out that the dog was a prohibited breed. The staffordshire-cross pit bull attacked the eight-year-old in Pank Parade in Blacktown. Paramedics treated the poor girl for deep cuts and a broken arm.

Pit bulls are prohibited breeds under New South Wales laws. Blacktown Mayor Leo Kelly said, “It will be held subsequent to police inquiries and there could be a situation where the dog has to be put down. That will be done in consultation with the owner.”
